Navigating the Covid world continues to be a major challenge. Much of the southern hemisphere is locked down and travel to Australia and New Zealand will probably have to wait until next year. The Northern Hemisphere on the other hand seems to be opening up and this looks more and more like being a permanent situation as more of the populate are fully vaccinated.  

APSA: When did you join APSA, and why?

Christophe: It was Spring 2011, and Colin Dawson was starting up the Asia Pacific Superyacht Association (APSA). It was an initiative to connect the yachting industry in Asia, and Colin asked me if I would be interested to join and support.

The world’s most prestigious show, the Monaco Yacht Show, is set to return this year from 22-25 September. Held in the iconic Port Hercules, the Monaco Yacht Show represents the pinnacle of luxury and is, undoubtedly, the premiere luxury event worldwide.

Last week Burgess announced the sale of LIND in an in-house deal with Mark Woodmansey and Eleonora Pitasso representing the seller. This brings the total of yachts brokered by Burgess in Asia to five in 2021, so far - already as many as sold throughout 2019, their last record year.

The Tokyo Olympics are concluded and congratulations to Japan for successfully conducting this massive event during the coronavirus pandemic. The world watched while athletes competed, and the Tokyo Games were the ‘most-streamed’ Olympics due to spectators not being allow to attend.

APSA: When did you join APSA and why did you join?

YP Loke: I was part of a small group that discussed forming a region-wide superyacht association in 2009. The impetus for this came from a conference alongside the Singapore Yacht Show that year, at which delegates discussed the need to promote the region as a single cruising entity.
