Sustainability and Superyachts

We all know that sustainability is important. Especially in the superyacht industry where, if we’re honest, we are lagging a bit behind. But how can we change this? The first step is to understand the practical changes we can each make in our own workplaces – from measuring our environmental impact to creating a sustainability strategy.

Our sustainability course was developed to do just that. The course is very pragmatic, provides useful tools and tips, and empowers participants to start their own sustainability programmes within their respective companies.

Held in five hours divided over two days, it’s the perfect way to get up to speed with sustainability. And you’ll be in good company. Over fifty industry professionals from leading companies have already taken the course to rave reviews.

The course is run by Centre for Sustainability & Excellence who have trained 90% of Fortune 500 companies. But this isn’t a generic sustainability course. The programme is tailored to the superyacht industry so participants get the most out of it.

What will you learn?

Participants will learn the basics, from understanding sustainability definitions and key concepts to regulatory trends. The course will also cover how to effectively communicate sustainability and avoid greenwashing, both internally and externally. Participants will be taken through how to create a sustainability strategy, measure corporate social impact, and set methods for sustainability reporting. In short, it’s everything you need to know to take sustainability seriously.

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at land-based management of yachting related companies of all sizes. Past attendees have included managing directors, naval architects, marketing managers and heads of production.

Where and how does it take place?

Until the situation allows, all future courses will take place online via Zoom. The course is held in 5 hours, divided over two consecutive days of 2.5 hours each. To ensure maximum participation, the number of participants is capped at 14. Smaller breakout sessions will be used.

Become an accredited sustainability professional

For participants who want to take the next step, they can complete an examination following the course to recieve an official digital certificate. The examination is an assignment where the participant develops a written sustainability plan that applies the lessons from the course to their own organisation.

How much does it cost?

We want the course to be as accessible as possible for the industry. That’s why we’re offering the course at almost-cost price. The course is offered at just €315. If participants want to become accredited, the optional post-course examination is an additional €380, bring the total to €695 for both the course and the examination.

Sustainability-in-practice management course on 30 Sept and 1 Oct, 2.5 hours on both days from 14.00 – 16.30 CEST. Would be great to have APSA members signing up for it.
