The ASPA Asia Superyacht Night on the rooftop of the Novotel Monte Carlo was a great success, with live music by Pumba, free-flow beer and wine, delicious finger food, and fantastic South Pacific vibes. With over 150 invitation-only guests attending, it was a lively evening, and this year’s platinum sponsors Maritime Cook Islands showed us why everyone should make at least one visit to this South Pacific gem.

This year, Rivergate joined forces with the Brisbane Economic Development Agency, The Yard Brisbane, and Superyacht Australia, to showcase Brisbane as a top destination for tourism and industry. The global superyacht industry is more buoyant than ever with the next generation of owner adventurers on show in Monaco.

ASPA’s ‘Asia Superyacht Night’ was unanimously voted a huge success,­ with over 150 APSA members and friends enjoying live music, delicious treats, free-flow beer and wine, and of course the alluring performances of the Cook Islands dancers. Glenn Armstrong has been a Director of Maritime Cook Islands (MCI) since 2005. From 2006 to 2019 he was the CEO and has now returned to being a director only. Glenn’s vision is aligned with that of MCI, to have a world class open registry for ships and yachts based in the Cook Islands.

Thailand Charter Week is Asia’s premier B2B charter event for yachts and superyachts, a luxury yachting event that provides a platform to luxury charter yacht companies, set in the stunning ‘Superyacht Hub of Asia’, Phuket Island. The second edition will be held from the 16th to the 19th of November 2022 and will once again be hosted by the Phuket Yacht Haven Marina.

Sanlorenzo Asia, represented by Simpson Marine, is delighted to announce that Asia’s first hull of the new 2022 model Sanloreno SP110 has been sold shortly after her world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival and is set for delivery in spring 2024.

Affinity Group was back at the Monaco Yacht Show 2022 sending representatives from both the Isle of Man and Malta this year and the show had certainly returned to its previous glory after Covid. Andy Morgan, Group CEO says, “Affinity have attended Monaco Yacht Show every year since our formation 2004. We consider this show to be the most significant event in our yachting calendar.

There can be few moments in the history of our superyacht industry as dynamic and as challenging as the past two years, and 2022 has continued to offer challenge and opportunity in equal measure. This dynamic and energising environment was mirrored in a dynamic and energising annual general assembly of the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss), held in Monaco on 27 September.

For the second year in a row, under the aegis of the collective Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting brand, Yacht Club de Monaco hosted the 2nd Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous. “For many years, Yacht Club de Monaco and its President HSH Prince Albert II have supported any action promoting sustainability in the yachting world.

Australia's Gold Coast and Superyacht Australia is inviting you to take part in a Marine Industry Breakfast at FLIBS. The event will feature a welcome address from the City of Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis as well as introductions to the Australian Marine Industry, and how the Gold Coast has established itself as the Superyacht Hub of the Asia-pacific region.

A brief APSA Report for the 2021 – 2022 period was presented at the 11th AGM by APSA’s Executive Director, Suzy Rayment. APSA’s 10th Anniversary year was a challenging one because of strict travel and covid regulations. Several initiatives were actioned to connect with members, as well as to give APSA a stronger presence within the global superyacht community.
