Simpson Yacht Charter is delighted to announce the further expansion of the Hong Kong charter fleet with the recent notable addition of the brand new Sanlorenzo SL78. This beautiful Italian built bespoke yacht was built and delivered to Hong Kong in 2021, making her a stunning new addition to the city’s charter fleet.

The Italian shipyard announces an order book of 16 yachts in the 50 to 100-meter range and outlines its development strategy in this segment. On display in Monaco, 65-meter superyacht Zazou and Yacht Show flagship IJE, the 108-meter gigayacht.

It was pleasing to see several APSA Members at the Monaco Yacht Show 2021, and in this newsletter we cover some of their activities. Boutsen Design, headed by Daniella Boutsen, talks about their successful collaboration with Solaris Yachts, while Adam Whittle from Brookes Bell, was at the MYS to talk about the advanced non-destructive testing techniques which will save both owners and yards time and money when it comes to drydocking maintenance and repairs.

APSA: When did you join APSA, and why?

Raphael Beaudrey: I joined APSA in the first year after meeting Colin Dawson in Hong Kong. We found we shared common principles and he invited me to join APSA to help with its development. It was a way for me to discover the Asia-Pacific superyacht market and to enrich my knowledge and practice of it. As such, I was voted on to the Committee at the First APSA AGM at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2012.

A new collaboration of naval architects, interior and exterior yacht designers, dedicated to accelerating sustainability in yachting was launched on Thursday 23 September, 2021.

The ASPA Grand Tour was a webinar series that hosted 20 industry professionals, talking about their local cruising grounds and sharing a wealth of first-hand knowledge. The webinars kicked off APSA 10th Anniversary celebrations in 2021.
