Dear ASPA Members and Friends 

This year, APSA returned to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) for the first time since 2015, and it was a great opportunity to reconnect with the US superyacht community. Next stop for APSA is METSTRADE, which is a strong B2B platform, and APSA looks forward to following up with existing members and meeting potential new members as well. 

The Australian Marine Industry Awards, organised and hosted by the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX), cover categories for the superyacht, commercial marine and marine export sectors of the industry. The Australian Marine Industry Apprentice of the Year Award is proving extremely important as businesses recruit, train and support their new team members embarking upon a career in the Australian marine industry. 

The 2022 edition of FLIBS saw attendee numbers bouncing back at the first globally-attended boat show in the USA. Early indications from brokers and dealers suggest a healthy number of sales, with around 150 superyachts in attendance, and including a combined total of 17 US and world debuts.

Daniela Boutsen was awarded first prize at the 69th FCEM World Summit in Morocco last weekend for her innovative international interior design business. The founder and director of the Daniela Boutsen brand was named as winner of the prestigious Export Prize at the annual networking event for leading businesswomen.

Port Louis Marina is the yachting hub in the Southern Caribbean, and this year will be another busy time for the team onsite!Supporting a number of sailing regattas, rallies, and local events, the marina with 227 berths, and extra wide berths for larger catamarans is a firm favourite to visit this season!

Super Yacht Logistics Group (SYL) has announced the formation of a partnership with SeedMarine in Taiwan for the establishment of SYL Taiwan an entity to assist large yachts calling to the country. Taiwan is no stranger to yachts with its own very successful yacht building industry and now with many Taiwanese turning to yachting as the country moves towards a more consumer economy.

As part of the $13 million Coffs Harbour Marine Precinct Project, boatyard managers GCBoatyards are excited to announce the opening of a new boatyard facility serving the Coffs Harbour boating community.  Located along Marina Drive, adjacent to the 168-berth Coffs Harbour International Marina, it is conveniently located at the midway point between Sydney and Gold Coast.
