The inaugural  Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit is taking place in Hong Kong on the 5 and 6 of June, at the Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel. The summit aims to develop the Asian superyacht market in a bid to attract more yachts to the region. The two-day event will include a Networking Dinner on the first evening of the event, where attendees can network with colleagues from across the industry.

ASPS is looking forward to meeting members at the Singapore Yachting Festival (25-28 April), and the inaugural ICOMIA Boating Industry Conference (22-23 April) being held at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa, Singapore. With over 70 yachts on display, including several superyachts, there is plenty to engage both industry professionals and visitors alike. APSA is a Supporting Partner for the SYF, and APSA Committee member Alex Teji, (APSA Honorary Legal Counsel) will be attending the Festival, along with APSA Executive Director, Suzy Rayment. Insurance is a necessary evil. A broker is offering an owner a product that both he and the owner hopes will never have to be used. Many believe that the likelihood of having a claim is very slim and therefore feel that there is little point in spending money on insurance. While it is true to say that claims are relatively rare, they do happen and when they do, they are complex and expensive, often leading to a significant amount of downtime for a yacht.

Global charterers and superyacht Owners and Captains along with Charter companies have been shifting their focus from traditional cruising grounds in search of more exotic cruising destinations.“As the late September Mediterranean summer cruising season ends, increasingly some yachts that traditionally travel to the Caribbean for the winter are coming eastward to elongate the charter season and enjoy Asia Pacific’s warmth and beautiful islands”, reports Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS) co-founder, Captain Scott Walker.

Benetti’s latest unit of Motopanfilo 37M, BMP007 will be delivered to her owner in March 2024. With its timeless design inspired by the "navette" of the 1960s, the exterior lines of the Motopanfilo 37M are designed by Francesco Struglia in collaboration with the shipyard, and the interior design is by Lazzarini Pickering Architects.

Horizon Yachts announced its participation in the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show on May 23–26, 2024. Two brand new FD builds globally premiered at the 2024 Horizon Open House, and the first V74 customized for the Australian market will share the stage on Pier G. Alongside the FD90 and FD80, and the crowd favourite V74, there will be a range of brokerage yachts.

The ability to reliably ship yachts around the globe is a prerequisite for many of today's regattas. As with state-of-the-art racing yachts, Sevenstar recognizes that classic yachts of all sizes and descriptions need special attention. “These are unique yachts that are often similar to works of art and must be treated with the greatest of care”, says Sevenstar's classic yacht expert Matthieu Le Bihan.

Superyacht Australia has retained the reigns of hosting the “Crew Party of the Year” on the Superyacht Australia calendar of events, with 87 captains and crew from thirty-one yachts currently residing in Sydney Harbour. CAYAGO Asia Pacific started a new chapter in its APAC operation with the opening of a new showroom featuring SEABOB displays and office space at ONE˚15 Marina, Sentosa Cove in Singapore. The location allows CAYAGO Asia Pacific to enhance its presence in Asia and work more closely with partners throughout the region and to create more opportunities for the further growth for SEABOB.

The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s Rolex China Sea Race 2024 started on Wednesday 27 March 2024.  All 21 yachts got off to a clean start in the stunning Hong Kong Victoria Harbour. APSA Founder Member Peter Churchouse has been racing this offshore classic since the early 80s, and this year Moonblue 2, his custom-designed Warwick 65, is competing in the Premier Cruising division.
