APSA has been busy in November promoting the Asia-Pacific region to the global superyacht community at METSTRADE 2023. This year Committee members Christophe Ceard (Vice Chairman), Bryan Tse (Honorary Treasurer) and Gordon Fernandes (General Committee) were able to attend, along with APSA’s Executive Director Suzy Rayment. Christophe, who has been attending METSTRADE for the last 15 years said, “the event is definitely getting better every year, and I consider this to be one of the key events on the superyacht calendar.”
Fema International S.A is based in Switzerland but also has offices in Istanbul and Singapore. Nazmi Topcuoglu, the Managing Director and Senior Marine Surveyor in Singapore, has over 20 years of experience in management. Fema Marine performs surveys in ports all over the world, for superyachts, survey yachts, ships, and barges of all types and sizes.
METSTRADE is the world’s largest trade exhibition for equipment, materials, and systems for the international leisure marine industry. Celebrating its 35th Anniversary, METSTRADE which is organised by RAI Amsterdam in cooperation with ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry), this year reported record attendance. Visitors came from all sectors of the industry: yacht builders, naval architects, refit yards, distributors, dealers, wholesalers, captains, marina owners and marine equipment manufacturers worldwide.
The Hong Kong International Boat Show starting on the November 30 and running to the December 3 offers visitors an exciting four-day programme at the Club Marina Cove, Sai Kung, Hong Kong. The popular show has for the past two decades provided a unique platform for dealers and buyers to interact and share the latest designs and developments in boating.

The 2023 Sydney Superyacht Captains’ Long Lunch welcomed 42 Captains and luminaries from the superyacht industry for a much-anticipated get-together to celebrate the end of a successful year. Sponsored by Rivergate Marina & Shipyard, Major Yacht Services and Sydney Superyacht Marina, the event was the opportunity for Captains, representatives from industry bodies and suppliers to meet in a social setting to catch up on issues and renew personal connections.
The markets of Hong Kong, and Japan are now on the radar of GMBA. “These strategic additions to our team will enable us to better serve our clients and strengthen our presence in these key regions,” says GMBA chair, Veda Pretorius. The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA), a global organisation representing the recreational marine industry with more than 100 members around the world, announced new research outlining a portfolio of technologies best positioned to continue to propel the industry toward decarbonisation.
The Superyacht Life Foundation – a non-profit dedicated to telling the positive stories of superyachting in order to both change public perceptions and grow the industry – has unveiled further details of a major new initiative called World Boating Day. Up until now, 15 superyacht builders and one marina have already pre-registered for the inaugural event, which will take place on the weekend of 25-26 May 2024.

Hundreds of thousands of boating enthusiasts and marine industry professionals from around the world, came together for the 52nd Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the largest in-water boat show in the world. The Leisure marine sector has gathered in Amsterdam, with thousands of leading marine professionals gathering at METSTRADE which runs from Wednesday 15 to Friday 17 November 2023. “It’s a special edition for us,” says METSTRADE director Niels Klarenbeek, as we are celebrating our 35th Anniversary and launching two new pavilions to stimulate interest in foiling and start-up businesses.
