The Sydney International Boat Show closed on Sunday having enjoyed four days celebrating the Australian boating lifestyle at the International Convention Centre Sydney and the Show’s purpose-built marina on Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour.

Designed and built for a repeat owner, the new RP125 combines preferred elements from Horizon’s popular RP and FD Series. The new Horizon yacht has hit the water, once again demonstrating the world class builder’s strength in customized yacht designs and builds. The customized RP125 springs from the Raised Pilothouse (RP) platform but features an FD Series High Performance Piercing Bow for enhanced performance. 

StellarPM has recently secured a new factory in Zhuhai, (PRC). The factory spans an impressive 16,000 square feet (1,700 square meters). Its primary purpose will be to manufacture interiors for StellarPM's RENEW and New Construction projects. When completed in July, one of the first notable projects scheduled to take place in the factory is the production of a full-scale mock-up of the interiors of Destination ONE the 33-meter (108-foot) motoryacht currently under construction.

New marinas and shipyard facilities are coming online in Asia, and more superyachts are arriving, which is all adds up to good news for the Asia-Pacific superyacht community. The opening of ONE°15 Marina Nirup Island adds yet another berthing venue in the region, and with the local support voiced by the Indonesian Officials at the opening ceremony, bodes well for the future success of this new facility.

Maritime Cook Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Tiare Alice Story as the new Head of the Seafarer Training and Certification Department, effective from Monday, July 10th 2023. Tiare Alice will succeed Eleanor Roi, who will prioritise her role as Co-CEO, refocusing on business development and client services.

Horizon Yacht Australia (HYA) will showcase two high- volume yachts at the 2023 Sydney International Boat Show (SIBS), August 3-6. Situated prominently at the Cockle Bay Marina entrance of the show, Horizon will have the new customized V74 yacht and an FD80 yacht on display in Marina M 147.

It’s halfway through the year, and APSA has been busy to date with conferences and boat shows in Dubai, Singapore, and Turkey. This month we are extremely pleased to welcome Horizon Yachts in Taiwan as an APSA Premium Member. Benetti’s journey began in 1873, and this year the shipyard celebrated its 150th Anniversary with three days of celebration at the Viareggio and Livorno shipyards with owners, employees, and officials. 1873: The year the Benetti journey began when Lorenzo Benetti (1844-1914) purchases the Cantiere Darsena Lucca and founds the Benetti Shipyard.

Three days of celebration at the Viareggio and Livorno shipyards with owners, employees and officials in honour of One hundred and fifty years of values and passion for excellence, design and technological innovations. The shipyard was launched in 1921, and in the 1960s, with Lorenzo Benetti, the shipyard revolutionized the yachting world by switching construction from wood to steel: thus the modern megayacht concept was born, with the Delfino, Gabbiano and Mediterraneo series which became iconic boats.

The Southeast Yachting Conference 2023 included a superyacht panel discussion which touched on the growth of the superyacht industry in the region, the need for more consistent regulations to welcome superyachts to the region, and the need for more information and education on our fantastic cruising grounds.  The superyacht panel was moderated by Ewa Stachurska (Simpson Marine), and the panellists were YH Fang (Yachting Singapore), Capt Goh Thye Hock (Superyacht Captain), and Capt Andrew Meyer (Superyacht Captain).

Singapore has welcomed 10 superyachts ranging from 28-44m into the city over the last year and Hong Seh Marine has accounted for five of those, including a Custom Line Navetta 30, the brand’s first new build sold into the city. The sales of these superyachts coincide with the number of family offices that have now moved to Singapore, and the presence of these larger yachts will increase the growing demand for professional yacht management services in the country.
