The 40th Anniversary edition of the Palm Beach International Yacht Show (PBIBS) brought a unique mix of boutique glamour and a stellar line-up of yachts to America’s East Coast. Attracting thousands of visitors, the Palm Beach International Boat Show had a charm all of its own, and with more than $1.2 billion worth of boats and marine accessories on display across four days, it is also one of the biggest yachting events in the USA.

Boat shows really are back, and the 40th Anniversary edition of the Palm Beach International Boat Show proved to be an exciting and well attended event. With over 500 exhibitors and more than $1.2 billion worth of yachts and accessories on display, this is now the 3rd largest yacht show in the USA, and definitely one to add to your calendar. 

At the start of March, the Simpson Marine Hong Kong office was delighted to welcome Asia’s first Sanlorenzo SL90 Asymmetric to Hong Kong. This exciting model is a brand-new addition to the new Asymmetric range of fast planning Sanlorenzo yachts ranging from 90-120ft.

The Public Health Emergency for the COVID-19 Pandemic announced the Maldives 2-year PCR test on arrival is removed as of the 14th of March for fully jabbed international arrivals. Revoking the test comes after 656 days since first invoked, announced the Minister of Health, Ahmed Naseem.

Azimut once again reinvents yacht layout design with two innovative solutions that open up new onboard spaces and horizons. The Grande 26M features a Sea View Terrace on an extended cockpit, while the Grande 36M introduces the first-ever upper deck semi-walkaround, which extends over a single level almost to the tip of the bow.

Lantau Yacht Club (LYC) is pleased to introduce Ms Juliza Liu (right), who has joined the LYC team replacing Ms Charlotte Ho (left) as the Director of Membership and Marketing of Auberge Hospitality, while Charlotte will be promoted to a new role within the Group, heading Branding and Marketing for Discovery Bay.

The Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) held at the new Dubai Marina was a busy and successful event. Our Executive Director, Suzy Rayment, was able to catch up with several APSA members including: Benetti, Travel Cue, Cayman Islands, Sail Lanka, Burgess, Rosemont Yacht Services, Superyacht Australia/AIMEX, Hill Dickinson, Cluster Yachting Monaco, Yacht Style, and World of Yachting. If we missed any members, we apologise; however, the trip was done at short notice.

The 28th Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) was held in the new Dubai Harbour marina. The five-day show was an event that saw the Middle East yachting community re-connect and network at the region's premier event.

Over 100 delegates from the industry recently attended the Middle East Yachting Conference held at the St Regis Hotel on Dubai’s Palm Island with the theme ‘Embracing Change and Transformation with Breakthrough Innovation and Creativity’.

Southeast Asia has welcomed its first Bluegame BGX70 into Singapore. The BGX70 has been judged the ideal vessel for Singapore and her presence in the Lion city has been the perfect chance to conduct a series of private viewings and bespoke activations onboard.

M/Y Triumph is the new member, and one of the most recent, megayachts launched by Benetti. M/Y Triumph is 65 meters long, and features five enclosed decks plus a Sundeck, achieving an exquisite balance between volume and length.

Phuket welcomed its first group of Test & Go travellers entering the island province by sea on March 9th, 2022. Tourism officials say more visitors travelling on yachts and cruise ships will be entering under the quarantine exemption scheme.

Southern hemisphere’s largest shipyard ‐ Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM) ‐ creates new marine training and employment academy

The 40th Annual Palm Beach International Boat Show will take place from Thursday, March 24th through Sunday, March 27th along Flagler Drive in downtown West Palm Beach, directly across the Intracoastal Waterway from Palm Beach Island.

Originally scheduled for April 2022, Verventia have just agreed, in response to requests from many of the main stakeholders in the long-standing industry event, to delay the event from April to 9-12 June, 2022.

The Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) has announced the first round of speakers for its upcoming annual conference, ASMEX 2022, to be held in May at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast attracting several international industry leaders as speakers.

February has been a busy month, with the Miami International Yacht Show, Superyacht Australia Soirée 2022, and the German Superyacht Conference on the calendar. Coming up very soon is the Dubai International Yacht Show, YARE 2022, the Japan International Boat Show, Palm Beach International Boat Show, and the Thailand Yacht Show (Part 1) in Pattaya in April.
