Taiwan’s Love River Christmas Light Show
Kaohsiung City, Taiwan is hosting a series of Christmas themed events that started on the 12th November and continue onto January 2023. The Love River Bay has been turned into a combined ‘Light and Sound’ extravaganza that incorporates the Kaohsiung Pop Music Center complex, the harbour, and the Christmas market festivities.
Kaohsiung Mayor, Chen Qimai said that, “Kaohsiung looks forward to welcoming visitors to this special festive season display of large-scale concerts, night markets, and light fireworks, that will prove to be the most memorable year end ceremony ever! The Love River Bay becomes a stage for the largest digital Christmas light and shadow show, and aims to bring citizens and visitors together in a very romantic setting.
Besides the Love River Bay displays, visitors can enjoy the Da Pier-2 Art Zone, that will host a series of Kaohsiung Christmas parties where citizens can celebrate all the way into 2023. The Cultural Affairs Bureau says that the "2022 Love River Bay Christmas Lighting Show" is only the start of even more exciting events that will make Kaohsiung a must visit destination in 2023. During the day, visitors can also visit the dolphin trails, reefs, and enjoy the natural beauty of this costal seaport.
