Hong Kong Yacht Show 2020

Despite the continuing restrictions on business and social activity in Hong Kong, Kara Yeung and Andy Treadwell are still assured that the Hong Kong Yacht Show will be able to open as planned from 19-22 November. 2029.

All over the world, but especially here in Asia, being out on the water is suddenly a very attractive lifestyle option, as people consider new ways to travel and vacation – safely, and alone with just close friends and family. Owning your own boat is a whole new lifestyle – it is literally owning a second home, in an ever-changing neighbourhood of beautiful backdrops, amazing views, and every day a new location, location, location… 

That’s why the new Hong Kong Yacht Show, fully supported as it already is by most of the world’s leading boating brands, will create a much-needed sales platform, connecting new buyers with best sellers. The inaugural show in two months from now will obviously be on a slightly smaller and more local scale than the organisers had initially hoped for, but there is a very mature market in Hong Kong – the best in Asia, and it’s going gangbusters right now –they are very much looking forward to launching this brand new annual event, scheduled to take place from 19-22 November, 2020.

Having unfortunately been forced to make the difficult decision to postpone this year’s Singapore Yacht Show for a second time – it is now to be staged in April 2021.

Kara Yeung, Chief Executive of The Hong Kong Cruise & Yacht Industry Association, founding partner of HKYS, says the event should be able to go ahead as planned:

“Despite the continuing restrictions on business and social activity here, we are currently still assured that the Hong Kong Yacht Show will be able to open as planned in November. We are nearly sold out in terms of the yacht berths, with some 35 beautiful vessels now confirmed and many more on the waiting list, although we still have room for more exhibitors and sponsors to participate.
