Hong Kong International Boat Show 2023 and HKBIA Reception

The Hong Kong International Boat Show 2023 reported a positive response from dealers, exhibitors, and visitors. The organiser, Club Marina Cove, said the four-day event received the full support of the Hong Kong Boating Industry Association and its members. About 40 boats of the latest designs and makes from Italy, France, Britain, Poland, Finland, USA, South Africa, China, and Hong Kong were on display at the show.

As a result of the COVID pandemic, which drove many people turning to water sports as a leisure activity, the boating industry has flourished in the past years. However, the recent economic slowdown does not dampen the confidence of the industry. Dealers at the show felt the Hong Kong boating industry could weather the slowdown given its unique position as a low tax haven, convenient geographic location, and strong maritime culture.

Miss Winnie Ng, General Manager of Club Marina Cove, said the Club will continue to support the development of the boating industry. The territory’s boating culture will complement the Government’s initiative to attract high quality talents, corporations, and investments. With the increasing integration with the Greater Bay Area, there will be more opportunities for the industry and sustainable growth can be expected.

On the Friday evening of the show the Hong Kong Boating Industry Association (HKBIA) hosted a cocktail reception on to kick off the much-awaited event. Attended by over 100 guests including APSA members, the evening was a great success and showed just how much the HKBIB has grown over the last seven years since its founding in 2017.
