CODENE returns to Rivergate

A superb example of a luxury expedition motor yacht, 35m (115ft), Tenex-built Codene was slipped at Rivergate Marina & Shipyard for several weeks while it underwent annual maintenance, repairs and Lloyds Class Survey to retain its commercial status.

Codene is an intrepid compact explorer with worldwide cruising range and returned to Rivergate for a second stay after a successful visit in 2014.

The 280 tonne vessel was lifted with Rivergate’s 300 tonne travelift and then occupied the hardstand for the duration of works.

“We were very pleased to welcome Codene back to Rivergate,” stated General Manager, Andrew Cannon. “Our on-site marine specialists are ideally equipped to work on Codene and any expedition vessels, with the skills and expertise suited to the 5-star finish and high-tech nature of these long-range motor yachts.”

The Captain and owner were very pleased with the exemplary quality of the work carried out. “They trust Rivergate for its reputation for expertise and superior quality, and our solid relationship with the Class Society, whose surveyors are confident with the continued quality workmanship and standards of work at Rivergate,” said Mr Cannon.

Expedition superyachts are enjoying a surge in popularity, both with the private and charter yacht market.

They offer the promise of unlimited exploration of the world’s most remote regions and are prized for their incomparable range, robust build, interior volume, deck space, room for water toys, tenders and in many cases, chopper or submersible. In the case of Codene, she has large storage capacity for fuel and water, as well as state-of-the-art on board systems and electronics that assure her guests self-sufficiency for months on end.
