Dear APSA Members and Friends

APSA’s‘ Asia Superyacht Night’ with its South Pacific theme will be held on Tuesday 27th September at the rooftop pavilion of the Novotel Monte Carlo. Maritime Cook Islands are this year’s premium sponsor and Cook Islands dancers will bewelcoming invited guests. Invitations will be sent to registered members this week. Please contact Suzy Rayment if you wish to attend, as it is strictly guest list only and we will be full soon, so don’t be disappointed on the evening.

Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS) will be at Monaco this year, and their stand is in the expansive Darse Sud air-conditioned tent (DS9). APS Directors Gordon Fernandes and Capt. Charlie Dwyer will be on hand to share news from the Asia-Pacific region, so drop by and say hello. APS Maldives Director, Mohamed Hameed, will be giving updates on the status of Asia-Pacific marinas including the new Hulhumalé Yacht Marina which is part of the Maldives’ most ambitious and extensive new development.

APSA member GMT – Global Marine Travel - will also be at Monaco Yacht Show, and will be hosting private group lunches. If you want to learn more about a company that focuses on the marine industry and their travel needs, contact them directly for an invitation.  YACHTZOO will be onboard their various displayed motor yachts during the show too so contact them for clients who are interested to buy or charter.

Other news includes the launch of Nautor Swan’s first motor yacht - the Swan Shadow, and ASIAMARINE has been appointed as the Asia dealer. Swan are a renowned sailing boating brand, and their move into the motor yacht sector of the market is a milestone event. Another sailing connection comes with the Italian shipyard Bluegame signing an agreement with New York Yacht Club’s American Magic, a challenger for the 37th America’s Cup to be held in Barcelona in 2024.Bluegame will be designing and constructing the team’s hydrogen-powered chase boat. Finally, the Thai Yachting Business Association (TYBA) is ready to kickstart the upcoming high season with the second edition of Thailand Charter Week from 16th to 19th November, 2022. TYBA fully expects the event to be even bigger than the successful inaugural edition in November 2019. The host venue will once again be the prestigious Phuket Yacht Haven Marina on the northeast coast of Phuket, offering fully serviced berths for up to 320 vessels, a swimming pool, gym, restaurants, and the famously friendly Thai service.

Looking forward to catching up with members at APSA Asia Superyacht Night and during the Monaco Show.

Best regards
