Chairman’s Message 19 July 2022

Dear APSA Members and Friends

Local events, industry news and interesting superyachts options are all part of this month’s newsletter. Azimut|Benetti recently reported on its financial and market performance, announcing that the value of the Group’s production for 2021/2022 reached the €1 billion mark, representing a 19% rise on the previous year. Cluster Yachting Monaco recently hosted the 2nd Annual UHNWI insight summit that looked at the 21st Century Uber Luxury Client, and provided insights from both practical and research sources. The webinar presentation link has been shared with members, and the key takeaways are that superyacht clients are getting younger and more experientially-focused. Plus, the luxury of what the industry offers lies not just in products and experiences, but also in the level of service provided.

Superyacht Australia recently held their 9th annual Australia-Tahiti Rendezvous sponsored by Benetti, with 15 yachts in attendance. The superyacht captains and crew were excited to receive updates on the Australian superyacht industry, and participate in the day’s festivities. These included Morning Tea Expo at L’Ínstand Présent, followed by Rivergate Marina & Shipyard’s VIP Captains’ Lunch. For the 25 attendees, the lunch was an ideal opportunity for the captains to get up to speed on why Australia is an ideal charter destination when cruising the South Pacific.

Next event on the calendar is the Sydney International Boat Show, which opens on 28 July 2022. Suzy Rayment, APSA’s Executive Director, is very much looking forward to catching up with any APSA members at the show: please let her know if you plan to be there!

Monaco Yacht Show 2022: planning is also underway, and sponsors are coming on board, for the legendary ‘APSA Superyacht Night’ to be held on Tuesday 27 September on the rooftop of the Novotel Hotel Monaco. There are still some promotional opportunities available, so please contact me if you would like further information or if you are an APSA member planning to attend, so that we can add your name to the guest list

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
