APSA Chairman's Message 6 September 2023

As summer finishes the superyacht scene hots up. Next on APSA’s calendar is Monaco, where I look forward to catching up with members at the AGM and the APSA Asia Superyacht Night on 26 September. You will be receiving email notifications for both events. I will also be attending Cannes Yachting Festival on certain days, and I know that a few of our members will be attending or exhibiting. Please contact us if you would like to meet up.

APSA welcomes another new member, Sentient International, which is a privately owned group of independent, modern, corporate and trust service providers, who between them have a solid track-record of over 35 years. This experienced team of professionals offers complete in-house expertise, as well as specialist knowledge within a number of niche industry sectors including aviation, fintech, property, shipping, and (of course) yachting.

There are several superyachts featured in this newsletter, and still more making their way to Asia, or being delivered to Asian clients who enjoy cruising in the Med. There is also a growing awareness of the delights of superyacht cruising in the South Pacific, and both The Superyacht Gathering (23-24 August) and the annual Australia-Fiji Rendezvous (25 August) were a resounding success, with superyachts’ owners and guests enjoying the facilities of Port Denarau Marina and three days’ networking and 'long lunches' in a fabulous tropical paradise.

Asian boat shows and conferences are back on the boating horizon, with the announcement that the Singapore Yachting Festival (SYF) is set to return on 25-28 April 2024, preceded by the two-day Southeast Asia Yachting Conference (SEAYC) 23-24 April 2024, with both being held at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove. There’s the Hong Kong International Boat Show at Marina Cove, Hong Kong, 30 November - 03 December, and the Thailand International Boat Show at Royal Phuket Marina 11-14 January 2024.

There are other very exciting superyacht events planned for 2024, and more information will be released shortly. Enjoy your time on the water and at the forthcoming boat shows.

Regards

Nigel Beatty
