APSA Grand Tour 2021 Season 2 webinars covered the South Pacific Swing (Tahiti, Fiji and Cook Island) and the Indian Ocean Adventure (India/Andamans, Maldives and Sri Lanka) in April 2021 and the individual recording are now available on the APSA YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC71BXQUl26xD03B764s3BCQ and on the APSA Website.

Starting in the South Pacific, expert panellists Manoa Rey (Tahiti), David Jamieson (Fiji) and Katrina Matherson (Cook Islands) helped the superyacht community to understand why the South Pacific offers some of the best cruising on the planet.

Manoa Rey, born and raised in Tahiti, French Polynesia, works for Tahiti Tourism developing strategy for Nautical Tourism, especially superyachts. “The beauty of these island is an easy sell, but it’s the people and the culture that make Tahiti a special place to visit.”

Katrina Matheson, a Cook Islands resident, is enthusiastic about island life. For the past 13 years Katrina has been the Marketing Manager for Maritime Cook Islands (MCI), and the Cook Islands Ships Registry, as well as the CEO of the Cook Islands Yacht Squadron. “Cook Islanders love to party, and there is no better place to stop off in the South Pacific. Our islands are where heaven meets earth!”

David Jamieson is a superyacht Captain who has skippered a wide variety of vessels. Having arrived in Fiji on a yacht, he never left. He founded Yacht Help Fiji and Yacht Help Tonga, and now provides services to hundreds of visiting superyachts.

The following week the webinar focused on South Asia, with an Indian Ocean Adventure and expert panellists Aashim Mongia (India), Prasanna Withanage (Sri Lanka) and Nadhira Muneer (Maldives), who gave an update on the developments and options available for superyacht cruising in the region.

Aashim Mongia is the Founder of West Coast Marine Yacht Services a leading one-stop-shop marine company in India. A Founding member of APSA, Aashim was a competitive sailor and now is the President of the IMF (Indian Marine Federation).

Prasanna Withanage, is Sri Lankan and started his career in shipping. Having gained a wide knowledge from providing agency services to commercial vessels, Prasanna joined Asia Pacific Superyachts (Sri Lanka) and now provides agency services to visiting superyachts.

Nadhira Muneer was born and raised in the Maldives and describes her home as ‘paradise on earth’. Nadhira moved into the superyacht world in 2016 when she joined Asia Pacific Superyachts (Maldives) where she is the Charter Experience Manager.
