APSA Chairman's Message 14 November 2022

Dear ASPA Members and Friends

This year, APSA returned to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) for the first time since 2015, and it was a great opportunity to reconnect with the US superyacht community. Special thanks go to Superyacht Australia, the US Superyacht Association, MegayachtNews.com, Azure Yacht Crew Health, Asia Pacific Superyachts, and GMT- Global Marine Travel (Oasis Lounge) for their support during the show.

FLIBS is largest boat show on the planet. The five-day mega event welcomed over 100,000 visitors and showed off 1,300 yachts displayed by over 1,000 brands at the seven venues. We were able catch up with several APSA members present at the show, either exhibiting or ‘just visiting’. These included Travel Cue, Gold Coast City Marina and Shipyard, Rivergate Shipyard and Marina, Cayman Islands Registry, and Sevenstar Yacht Transport.

Most importantly, APSA was able to network with several potential members - and FLIBS is a great platform for doing that. We look forward to welcoming more USA members to the Association.

Next stop for APSA is METSTRADE. Two of our committee members, Christophe Ceard (Vice Chairman) and Bryan Tse (Hon Treasurer) are planning to be at the show and the associated Superyacht Forum. Our Executive Director, Suzy Rayment, will also be in attendance, so please let her know if you will be there so that she can coordinate with you.

METSTRADE is a strong B2B platform, and APSA looks forward to following up with existing members and meeting potential new members as well. It has been a busy year for APSA, and the Asia-Pacific is now firmly on the global superyacht cruising map; a great many superyachts that attended MYS and FLIBS now have copies of the 2022 APSA Guide onboard!

Keep in contact and keep connected.
