The George Group Gathering in Hong Kong

The George Group along with Cowie & Co and Lodestone Yachts, was pleased to be to be sponsors of the recent Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit and in the lead up to the Summit, hosted a private dinner for 22 guests from 11 countries. Helped by good food and some superb wines the state of the superyacht industry was well and truly examined. Following from a successful inaugural dinner in 2024 this looks to become a fixture for future Summits. Colin Dawson from The George Group commented ‘the Summit this year was better attended and more intense than the inaugural event in 2024.

It really shows that Hong Kong is becoming a major centre for the industry in the region. While we don’t yet have the visiting numbers other parts of the region has with government support for an expansion of the yacht industry to welcome international yachts and with Hong Kong being the premier business, financial and legal hub of Asia the future is bright’. Insurance is pivotal to the operation of a yacht, and The George Group saw good leads and discussions generated from the Summit, not just from Asia but companies and owners looking for global solutions to their risk mitigation. We look forward to the next Summit in 2026.
