Integrated Marine Group: New Appointment and company expansion

Maintenance and Refit Services

Integrated Marine Group (IMG) is delighted to announce the recent appointment of Phillip Redpath as General Manager for the Group. This is a new position, created to expand the company’s maintenance and refit expertise into other locations and markets.
Phil Redpath will bring his project management skills plus extensive experience in the leading edge of yacht interiors and superyacht construction to bear, as the IMG team moves forward to increase its market share throughout New Zealand, the Asia Pacific and Europe.

Phil’s appointment frees director Mark Wightman, to spend more time on the development of new business and working with partners offshore. He’s a familiar face at international yacht shows and will soon head to Europe for the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show.

IMG’s central Auckland base enables yachts to undertake work in the heart of the city - a factor that has proven very popular with crew. IMG’s team works to optimize the repair program and conduct as much work as possible in the marina and only haul at one of the adjacent shipyards for essential works. It is a formula that has worked well for the company and clients alike.

Repeat customers indicate the success of this program with a 57m vessel recently marking her third time with the team at IMG. Project manager Dave Low began planning the in-water work well in advance to carry out fabrication and structural improvements in time to get the yacht to its next destination. IMG’s growing reputation for forward planning and exemplary organization is attracting yachts from across the Pacific.

Dave, who is this month celebrating his tenth year with the company, has been key to that reputation for organizational excellence. He began in 2007 with a project on M/Y Karima and used his years of experience as a yacht engineer to ensure projects ran smoothly over the 25 refits that followed.

One of the key factors to Dave’s success has been the exemplary core team of contractors he’s pulled together to execute high quality work. It means yachts which come to New Zealand for yard periods have the best possible workmanship at their fingertips with one, reliable point of contact to coordinate all aspects of the work.

With support services ranging from yacht clearance to airbridge and private jet meet, greet and transportation, travel planning and ships supplies, Yacht Support Manager Alison Walker is looking forward to a busy season.

Alison also arranges crew favorites with our annual IMG charity golf tournament and regular crew drinks nights.

Each year, superyacht crew and members of the industry gather to test their golfing prowess, raise money for a good cause and generally have a good time.

This year it will be held on 30 November at Waitemata Golf Club, with all proceeds benefitting the Whale and Dolphin Trust. To register a team, or register an expression of interest as a sponsor, contact IMG’s Alison Walker: Alison@integratedmarinegroup.com
