CharterWorld Attends the TYBA Charter Show

It was with much excitement that the CharterWorld team returned to Gocek for this year’s TYBA Charter Show. Turkey has grown significantly as a luxury charter destination and Gocek’s D-Marin played host to yachting professionals from around the world once again, in May. This natural marina is rapidly becoming the hottest spot for Turkish yachting.

We were thrilled to see how much the show has grown and the quality and variety of yachts on show, including an increasing number of impressive motor yachts available for inspection.

Some of our highlights from the show included:

S/Y RUNNING ON WAVES | 64.00m (210') | 46 guests in 18 suites. The passionate, English-speaking crew proudly showed her off and the owner was on hand to give his personal guarantee that he keeps the yacht upgraded and that she is kept in pristine condition. She is a traditional-style sailing yacht built by Segel Masten Yachten in 2011, refitted in 2021 and can accommodate up to 42 guests in 18 cabins. This charter yacht offers the highest level of comfort boasting unique features such as a cinema, discotheque, conference multimedia room, spa pool, spa, diving and water toys centre.

S/Y DOLCE MARE | 36m (118'11'') | 12 guests in 6 suites. She presented very will and benefitted from an experienced and enthusiastic crew and fantastic chef. A classic sailing gulet built to the highest standards with a modern contemporary interior and two master suites boasting their own spa baths. The yacht has a great sense of space, comfort and style throughout. Other sailing yacht highlights included: S/Y BABYLON, S/Y QUEEN OF MAKRI and S/Y CAPRICORN 1.

M/Y STELLA FIERA | 36.54 m (119' 11") | 10 guests in 5 suites. A rare find in the Turkish charter fleet is this classic and well maintained Benetti motor yacht with very professional, English-speaking Crew. She also boasts all the contemporary features charter guests expect including jacuzzi, stabilisers, on deck cinema and excellent choice of water toys.

S/YTUYIKA S: We were treated to delicious traditional Turkish cuisine for lunch on board motor sailing yacht TUYIKA S and experienced wonderful hospitality from our hosts throughout the show. Beyond the show itself we would recommend some of the smaller and great value yachts available for charter in the region including S/Y DIDI and S/Y GOZDEM THE ONE.

Overall, the Turkish charter market has plenty of supply, however as their systems works a little differently from many other charter areas, and Charterworld firmly recommends the importance of using a good and experienced local agent. They will not only ensure the boat is delivered to the standard expected from international clients but can also assist with many logistics such as the handling of APA, transfers, restaurant reservations, accommodation recommendations and land excursions. CharterWorld will continue closely following the growth of the Turkish yacht charter market and look forward to the next TYBA show in 2024.
