Chairman’s Message 30 May 2025

Dear APSA members and Friends,

May has been a very busy month for APSA, starting with the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit on 7-8 May, where APSA was a Supporting Partner and a number of APSA Members were presenting, including myself. It was great to see the Asia-Pacific really stepping forward as the next superyacht hub, and a full report from the SYT team can be found in this newsletter. APSA members presenting at the Summit included Paolo Casani, Joe Yuen, Jean-Marc Poullet, Manoa Rey, Robert Corcoran, Rob 'Doc' Taylor, Angel Zhou, Alexandre Heng, Simone Centola, Sam Thompson, Lawrence Chow and Nigel Beatty.

Altogether, a further 25 ASPA member companies attended the summit, and an extra special thanks goes out to those who sponsored the summit: Fema Marine S.A, Benetti, Gulf Craft, Ferretti Group, Simpson Marine, Camper & Nicholsons, Cowie & Co, Lodestone Yachts, Sunreef Yachts, Setouchi DMO, Tahiti Tourism, and The George Group. Post-Summit, APSA and the Hong Kong Boating Industry Association (HKBIA) co-hosted the Asia Superyacht Night (Hong Kong) at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. The sunset cocktails welcomed over 180 members, summit delegates, and VIP guests enjoying the stunning views over Victoria Harbour, and making the most of this fantastic networking evening. Many thanks go to our event sponsors Fema Marine, Cowie & Co, Cheoy Lee Shipyards, Maritime Cook Islands, Superyacht Times and YACHTEYE.

This month APSA welcomes another new member - Cheoy Lee. A well-known name in Asia, Cheoy Lee boasts five generations of shipbuilding expertise, has two building facilities in China, and their corporate headquarters in Hong Kong. Their 'CL Yachts' brand was launched in 2018, and seeks to reinvent today’s motoryacht for tomorrow by embracing the latest in technological advances.

This newsletter is jam packed with Members' news, includes new launches (Nautor Swan, Horizon Yachts, Benetti B.Now 67m, and StellaPM’s ST88, Members taking leading roles in the marine industry (Eleanor Keukura Roi, Cook Islands) and Asian marinas (Lantau Yacht Club) being accredited as 'Superyacht Ready'. There was more news than space this month so another newsletter will be sent out early June with all the latest happenings in the Asia-Pacific.

I will be heading back to Asia shortly but I was just in Monaco for the Formula 1 Grand Prix at the YACHTZOO office which, being trackside, is a great place to watch the action

Don’t forget to save the date for APSA’s signature event, the Asia Superyacht Night Monaco, on Tuesday 23 September. This is always the largest kick-off party for the Monaco yacht Show. If you are interested to come onboard as a sponsor there are still places available. Just let Suzy know.

I look forward to seeing you in Monaco in September, and in the meantime enjoy your time on the water!

Best Regards

Nigel Beatty
