ASMEX CONFERENCE 2020

The recent passing by the Senate of the Special Recreational Vessel legislation that will enable foreign superyachts to charter in Australia through a coastal trading temporary licence. This change will of course have a positive effect to the marine industry in terms of job creation and in economic spend through the increased provision of marine services, in particular due to the increase in superyacht visitation activity in the Pacific region spurred on by the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and the America’s Cup in Auckland New Zealand in March 2021."
