APSA at the Monaco Yacht Show 2017

APSA (the Asia Pacific Superyacht Association) recently held its 7th Annual General Meeting, Members Forum and APSA Cocktail Reception, at the Monaco Novotel, on the evening before the start of the 2017 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show.

The AGM saw new committee members elected; Bryan Tse of the Yacht Management division of Anglo Eastern in Hong Kong, and YH Fang of Yachting Singapore. APSA welcomes these new committee members and looks forward to a productive few years ahead with their input into the direction of APSA.

Following the AGM was the members forum, an informal discussion on the direction of APSA and its focus in Asia. Andy Treadwell from the Singapore Yacht Show also spoke on the direction of yacht shows in Asia and it was generally agreed that the support of a flagship show in Asia (like the Singapore Yacht Show) was necessary for the Asian Industry and we all need to support it.

Unfortunately there were fewer people than expected at the AGM and Forum, due to traffic chaos in Monaco caused by the Champions League Football game being played that evening, however the discussion at the forum was lively and productive.

Directly following the forum, the APSA Cocktail Reception was held on the Roof Terrace of the Novotel, a spectacular venue for APSA’s private invitation event for around 100 people. Sponsored by YACHTZOO, SYL Japan and the Singapore Yacht Show, the cocktail reception was perfect for APSA members to network and chat in spectacular rooftop setting, with spectacular sundown views over Monaco. The success of this event and the fact that it gets more successful every year, means APSA will plan for even more for the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show.

Lastly during Monaco, APSA launched the latest APSA Guide to the Asia Pacific, and the APSA team present at the show distributed this at all exhibitors and yachts present in Monaco.

APSA reports that preparations for the Singapore Yacht Show in April 2018 are well underway with the APSA stand at the show and a second Members Forum. APSA will be publishing final deals for the Singapore yacht show very soon.

Chairman and Vice Chairman of APSA, Nigel Beatty and Christophe Ceard issued a joint statement:

“The 2017 edition of the Monaco Show has been most productive for APSA. Kicking off with our Members Forum, AGM and a spectacular cocktail party and an amazing location, the future is very bright for the Association. The show was busy with APSA staff distributing the latest APSA Cruising Guide all over the show. Next year will be bigger and better for APSA, but in between then we have the Singapore Yacht Show, the flagship yachting event in the Asia region, where we have some great events planned for APSA. We wish to thank our sponsors this year, Premium and long time APSA member YACHTZOO who always bend over backwards assisting with our logistics in Monaco, and SYL Japan & Singapore Yacht Show, who with YACHTZOO co-sponsored our fabulous cocktail party. Also thank you to Hill Dickinson in Monaco who continue to assist us with our logistics. See you in April in Singapore!”
