An increasing trend - Business Aviation and Superyacht events merging

Our newest APSA member Boutsen Design Monaco leads the way.

When one considers the logic of this - it doesn’t actually seem that surprising.

The owners of the world's most beautiful and spectacular vessels at anchor, invariably have a private jet waiting nearby, to whisk them away to one of their multiple homes or to attend to business or state affairs.

These individuals value their time and an opportunity to 'kill 2 birds with one stone' holds enormous appeal. Browsing the latest product offerings in private jets, while shopping for the next yacht at a yacht show, seems to be the way forward.

Once the yacht and plane have been selected, the buyer’s attention turns all to often to enhancing these to the ultimate expression of the owner’s lifestyle, the interior decoration and onboard amenities.

One of our latest members of the APSA, Boutsen Design, has been a pioneer in understanding the overlap of these sectors and is therefore delighted, for the 3rd year running, to be co-exhibiting as partners with Boeing Business jets during the Monaco Yacht Show 2019.

Boutsen Design based in Monaco was founded by Daniela Boutsen in 2012, as an additional new venture following the success of Boutsen Aviation which she founded 15 years prior with her husband Thierry Boutsen, the former Formula 1 Grand Prix champion.

Applying her first-hand knowledge and experience of the Business Aviation world, she was able to very quickly secure very prestigious decoration projects at the VVIP level, working alongside the most respected completion centres in the world.

The company was initially created to supply the A to Z in bespoke decoration and loose equipment, with the aim of doing it more efficiently and reliably than anyone else.

Due to the successful completion and delivery of these projects the reputation, expertise and expansion of the company led to Daniela being invited to pitch for projects in the Superyacht industry.

The discipline gained in Business Aviation relating to weight, storage, safety and regulatory demands made the transition into luxury yachting decoration relatively straight forward, as many of the same factors and restraints apply. The diversity of skills in the enlarged company has allowed for an even broader service to be offered and the scope of subsequent projects has further increased.

Residential projects have been the latest division to evolve organically in the company’s development and ensure that there are usually multiple projects being completed in parallel.

Boutsen Design is currently positioned as a highly respected specialist in luxury interior design and decoration within the Industry and more importantly by their growing list of prestigious clients.

Well known partnerships and associations with the creme-de-la-creme of players across these particular industries illustrates the respect earned during this dynamic evolution, reference as example the partnership with Boeing Business Jets.

The formula for this success has been simple. To deliver a result that exceeds the clients expectation, on budget and on time.
